Meet the Sirens: Lady Grey

Meet the Sirens: Lady Grey

It’s Hump Day and there is light at the end of the work-week tunnel. Before you know it, the weekend will be here and so will Les Femmes Fatales’ sultry summer show Sirens of the Solstice. Hellz Kitten sat down for a Q&A with the Keystone State’s Lady Grey.

How long have you been burlesquing?
I have been entertaining professionally since the age of 15, including performing on Broadway, at the Sydney Olympics, and Disney World. I began burlesque in 2015 and haven’t looked back!

What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
Inspired by my brave best friend, I started to explore and learn. Since then, I have been attracted to the beautifully accepting audiences and the freedom to be myself on stage without fear of typecasting, judgment, or harsh criticism.

What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
I am a mom of two, the director of Lady Grey’s Lovelies (a fantastic vintage dance company), and a financial systems project manager. I am obsessed equally with Henry Cavill and Emma Watson. I also have taught dance for 27 years and owned a studio for 13.

What is the sexiest thing about summer?
The sexiest thing about summer is the smell of suntan lotion mingled with warm sunshine and a cool drink…with a little ocean breeze and loved ones laughing nearby.

Come see Lady Grey and a school of sexy sirens at The Triad on June 18. Coming from the Mermaid Parade? Show up in your costume for a chance to win prizes! Tickets.

How long have you been burlesquing?
I got involved burlesquing with Broadway Bares two years ago, but started doing it solo four months ago.

What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
I enjoy the freedom to tell a story and let my sexy/quirky sides out.

What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
I still dance a lot away from burlesque but I also bartend all summer in Saugatuck, Michigan at a gay resort called The Dunes.

What is the sexiest thing about summer?
It gives me an excuse to wear the abundance of Speedos I own.

Meet the Sirens: Elsa Riot

How long have you been burlesquing?
Just over a year.

What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
I can be geeky and goofy and sexy all at the same time! In most parts of life I must tone down at least one of those but on a burlesque stage I can give you everything!

What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
Playing Dungeons & Dragons! As the Dungeon Master I get to be the big bad guy and routinely plot the end of the world. So it feeds my evil side and always challenges me to be creative. Some of my burlesque acts are actually inspired by my villains!

What is the sexiest thing about summer?
Porches. Show me a beautiful porch on a hot day and I WILL undress and lie on it!

Come see Elsa and a school of sexy sirens at The Triad on June 18. Coming from the Mermaid Parade? Show up in your costume for a chance to win prizes! Tickets.

Meet the Sirens: Trix E. Sleeves

Meet the Sirens: Trix E. Sleeves

The nights are heating up in NYC and Les Femmes Fatales’ sultry summer show Sirens of the Solstice is almost upon us. Hellz Kitten sat down for a Q&A with some of the performers. Meet Trix E. Sleeves.

Trix E. Sleeves

Social Media/Website:
I don’t have a social media/website specifically for burlesque yet…hope that’s okay!

How long have you been burlesquing?
I’m a newbie, just performed in my first show on April 1st, but love it so far! I’ve been dancing burlesque for about a year.

What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
Burlesque gives me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and be somebody different than what everyone sees. I like the fact that I can be whoever I want, and it’s helped me embrace my body and love myself more as well.

What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
When I’m not burlesquing, I enjoy taking long walks, yoga, and admiring other peoples’ art. I like being lazy and watching YouTube videos too, ha ha.

What is the sexiest thing about summer?
The sexiest thing about summer is that I don’t feel like I have to hide my body. I feel very confined under my clothes in winter.

Come see Trix E. and a school of sexy sirens at The Triad on June 18. Coming from the Mermaid Parade? Show up in your costume for a chance to win prizes! Tickets.
