Ohmigod, it’s like, totally the ’80s already! Brush off your shoulder pads and Rubik’s Cube, crank up your boombox and let’s get to know our ’80s lady: Luscious Lane.

1. What is your favorite thing about the 1980s?
I’m a child of the ’80s and some habits are hard to break! Everything had to match: your shoes, top, socks, scrunchie… I still catch myself doing this today, well, minus the scrunchies! I still love the music and I can count on ’80s music to turn my mood around if I need it.

2. If you could have drinks/dinner with any person from that era, real or fictional, who would it be and why?
Easy, Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles. But only if he picks me up in his red Porsche.

Michael Schoeffling as Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles. Call us, Jake!

3. Is there anyone from today you think embodies the idea of the 1980s?
I still think Madonna embodies the ’80s. She helped shape the decade and so many teenage girls like myself, who wore fishnet tops, black rubber bracelets up their arm and wanted to roll around on gondolas in Venice.

Still got it: ’80s It Girl Madonna

Come experience (or relive) the ’80s with Luscious Lane on April 22 at The Triad. Need tickets? Click here!

Sparkling in Chelsea for Pets for Vets

Sparkling in Chelsea for Pets for Vets

On Wednesday, October 26, LFF paired up with jewelry designer Patty Tobin for Sparkle and Tease – a fundraiser to benefit Pets for Vets of NYC-Long Island. While guests sipped Prosecco, LFF’s Ruby Mechant and Spicy L’amour demonstrated some of their signature moves while showcasing Patty’s shimmery showpieces, one of which was taken home by a lucky raffle winner. The best part is, we raised $305 for pets for vets! Thank you so much to Patty and everyone else who made this “pawsome” evening possible!

How long have you been burlesquing?

I have been burlesquing for 9 months now.

What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
I daydream a fair bit, and I came to realize one day that my most vivid daydreams were in the style of burlesque, with dramatic music, amazing costume and dance, and a strong element of sexiness & allure. I love that burlesque taps into various skills that I have, and that it also taps into a once quite prevalent, historically relevant art form. And getting naked in front of people is just so invigorating.

What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
I am honing my crafts as an actor, singer, dancer, and musician. I work with children, I see a lot of theatre, and I’m a big fan of reading and podcasts. Enjoying the company and conversation of my closest friends gives me the energy and joy to balance it all.

What is the sexiest thing about summer?
I love how it puts us all back in touch with our basic humanity, in a way. The heat means fewer clothes, which means more sweating and need for water, which often puts an enticing sheen of natural oil on our skin.

Come see Jackie and a school of sexy sirens at The Triad on June 18. Coming from the Mermaid Parade? Show up in your costume for a chance to win prizes! Tickets.

And we would love for you to join us on June 16 for Burlesque Cocktail Hour at Madame XMore info.

See you soon!

LL: How long have you been burlesquing?

Three years.

LL: What drew you/draws you to burlesque?

I love the whole creative process of taking a musical piece and creating live theater with dance choreography, acting, costumes, etc. and bringing alive a character for
audience enjoyment. It’s so much more than the tease – it showcases the beauty of the feminine physique in all its shapes, sizes, ages and colors!

LL: What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?

When I’m not burlesquing, I’m working, spending time with my family, my sweet English bulldog and friends. I volunteer at a non-profit organization that supports the hungry and homeless. I’m also taking Bikram, singing, dance and film acting classes.

LL: I was inspired by your burlesque name to create a cakeball flavor. Any guesses as to what I have up my sleeve?

Vanilla citrus!

Let Soleil warm you up! Get your tickets for the CakeBall Masquerade.

Hurry, they are selling fast!

See you at The Triad on April 16!
