There are less than two weeks until Luscious Lane’s CakeBall Masquerade, a burlesque review featuring some sweet and sexy “flavors.” Luscious Lane sat down with some of the performers who inspired her. Meet Lulu Limoncella.
LL: How long have you been burlesquing?
I started in August 2014 in a group number with the Pink Chardonnays. My first solo was in October of 2014.
LL: What drew you/draws you to burlesque?
Burlesque empowers me so I can feel more comfortable with feeling vulnerable and embodying that there is strength in that. It’s also opened my creativity in new and ever expanding ways. It allows me to express myself playfully.
LL: What do you do when you’re not burlesquing?
I am attending burlesque shows. I am an avid Soul Cycle spinner. I recently started strength training with a competitive strong woman and it’s surprised me how much I enjoy doing deadlifts. It’s been great for my inner strength too. I’ve dabbled in trapeze. And I like to try new things. I’d be remiss if I didn’t say I enjoy sharing yummy food with dear friends. And I have four nieces and nephews who range in age from 13 to 20. I really enjoy spending time with each of them, as they are unique and I like them as much as I love them.
LL: I was inspired by your burlesque name to create a cakeball flavor. Any guesses as to what I have up my sleeve?
Well my tag line is I’m tart and intoxicating so I’m guessing that’s the theme. But you may need to add some pop rocks for effervescence and cayenne for spice to get all of me. Okay, it’s probably a little sweet too.
